Volunteers spend time with individuals who have mild to moderate memory loss while their caregivers take a break or attend support groups and programs offered by the Center or others in the community. Time commitment is flexible. The purpose and role of this position is to provide safe and nurturing support for the person with memory loss while giving their Caregiver (typically a spouse or family member) an opportunity to take a break from his/her care giving responsibilities. Provide visiting and activities that are meaningful and appropriate to the stage of memory loss. Memory Companion training session includes volunteer orientation and ongoing connection with Center Staff.

We have over 200 mobile homes in this park, and just recently opened a new community center for our residents.  The new community center has a computer lab, exercise room, game room and meeting areas.  We are looking for volunteers:

  • Hope Center Hosts – The Hope Center is a 3500 sf community center with a variety of activities, most of which are run by volunteers.  In order for the building to be open, at least three hosts are needed to check families in, be available for questions, and oversee activities.
Open hours are Monday night 7-8:30 pm; Tuesday and Thursday’s 1-2:30 pm.
  • Mentoring – Having an caring adult from outside of the family walk alongside a young person is one proven key to success!
  • Lead a Group – Do you lead a Cub Scout pack?  How about a community sports league?  Like art or theater?  The young people of Maple Hill would be interested in getting involved with these types of activities and leadership is needed to make that a reality.
  • Create a program!  We know that there are a lot of creative ways that volunteers have come up with to help support the families of Maple Hill Estates.  You might have a great idea for something that could be started.  If so, contact us and let’s see if it can happen!
  • Hospitality/Serve Meals-Throughout the summer we have Taco Tuesday.  If you are interested in providing and serving on a Tuesday night, please contact Jill at Jill@Mobilehopemn.org for more info.
  • Summer School-We will be offering summer school for K-5th grade.  Dates: July 23rd-August 17th (Monday-Thursday)  9am-noon.   If you would like to learn more email: ann.p.deroches@gmail.com
  • Lunch Box Fever-Help pick up and deliver summer lunches to children at Maple Hill Estates.  Monday-Thursday.  If interested in learning more contact Besty Pennuto at 612-710-0936 or email at pennutob@gmail.com
