Food Drive: The Sheridan Story

Over 200,000 children in the state of Minnesota live in food insecurity and do not always know if they will receive their next meal. The Sheridan Story’s purpose is to respond to this need by closing the weekend food gap between Friday and Monday, when children are not able to participate in the free or reduced meal programs at school.

We are an ever-growing network of weekend food programs, commonly called backpack programs, operating in multiple schools. Our organizational model is unique in that The Sheridan Story provides logistical expertise and project execution while leveraging community partnerships for funding and volunteers.

We work right here in Minnesota. Most of our work is in the Twin Cities area, but we work in greater Minnesota, as well!

One great way to support The Sheridan Story and raise awareness about the issue of child hunger in our community is through a food drive. Food drives are great service opportunities for offices, faith-based groups, boy scouts, girl scouts, school groups, sports teams and more.

Don’t worry – we make a food drive easy (and it’s fun)! We have lots of helpful tools to help you with your food drive!
