We have over 200 mobile homes in this park, and just recently opened a new community center for our residents.  The new community center has a computer lab, exercise room, game room and meeting areas.  They are looking for volunteers:

  • Homework Help / Tutors – Teachers and volunteers are needed to assist students with homework and/or tutor them in their schoolwork
  • Hope Center Hosts – The Hope Center is a 3500 sf community center with a variety of activities, most of which are run by volunteers.  In order for the building to be open, at least three hosts are needed to check families in, be available for questions, and oversee activities.
  • Mentoring – Having an caring adult from outside of the family walk alongside a young person is one proven key to success!
  • ESL (ELL) Teachers – There are many cultures represented in mobile home communities.  Teaching English helps those newer to the United States to apply for jobs, get ahead, and become more a part of the world around them.
  • Computer Skills Training – When our new community center opens up in the spring, we will have need for volunteers who enjoy teaching computer skills in our new computer lab.
  • Lead a Group – Do you lead a Cub Scout pack?  How about a community sports league?  Like art or theater?  The young people of Maple Hill would be interested in getting involved with these types of activities and leadership is needed to make that a reality.
  • Create a program!  We know that there are a lot of creative ways that volunteers have come up with to help support the families of Maple Hill Estates.  You might have a great idea for something that could be started.  If so, contact us and let’s see if it can happen!
  • Hospitality/ Serve Meals:  Through out the year there are a number of programs that youth and adults gather around a table to share a meal.  We need help shopping, preparing food and serving.  The dates and times vary.
  • Light Maintenance/Cleaning:   The Hope Center a busy place and sometimes things break or some extra cleaning is needed.   Hours are flexible.

Every six seconds one child has died from hunger related causes.

This is crazy! Especially when you think about the fact that we produce enough food to feed every person in the world over 4 pounds of food everyday!

Something is not right. But you can make a difference.

We have had a WONDERFUL  year with Kids Against Hunger!  Normally, the major challenge is getting the funds for the events as an adult can pack $50 worth of food in an hour.  This year, because of a corporate partnership and generous donations we will be packing another 100,000 meals this fall in multiple events and it is already paid for!  We plan to send 200,000 meals plus clothing and medical supplies directly into war-torn Syria.  We have an amazing contact that has the ability to bring relief into one of the most difficult places on the planet.  Come and help us fill a container to aid those in desperate need.  We will be taking groups for free until the funds run out.

YWAM Minneapolis and Kids Against Hunger make it easy. Bring your group to our campus. In just 2 hours, 10 people can pack enough food to feed over 2,000 hungry kids.

YWAM/Kids Against Hunger has the equipment, expertise and a portion of the raw materials we need to meet our goal of providing 2,000,000 meals.
