MOW THE GRASS

Rev up your lawnmower and chop down a grateful senior citizen’s lawn. Adopt the yard of an elderly resident of Minneapolis or Suburban Hennepin County during the summer. Choose your own schedule, mow every other week or so depending upon weather conditions. Work with a partner and you can take turns mowing. Family teams welcome, youth must be age 7 or older and supervised by an adult. The resident will provide an appreciative smile.

WALK WITH A PURPOSE

Get some great exercise while helping to inform elders in Minneapolis & Hennepin County Suburbs about the HOME Program. Post at businesses or drop off flyers door-to-door during daylight hours, weekdays or weekends, on your own schedule. HOME will provide the map, supplies, and directions. No sales.

Work with a partner or small group, youth over age 12 permitted with an adult. Ongoing unpaid volunteer opportunities are also available both indoors and outdoors. PAINT IT PRETTY

Beautify a senior citizen’s home with a fresh coat of paint, indoor or outdoor. Assist with scraping, priming, and painting. Minneapolis & suburban Hennepin County homeowner will provide paint, supplies, and grateful smile. Work in any size group, kids must be over age 12. The resident will offer a happy smile.

  • RAKE THE LEAVES

    Improve your health while helping a senior citizen in Minneapolis & Suburban Hennepin County remain independent in their home! You choose the date and time. Perfect for individuals, groups (small to large), and families (kids age 7 or older and supervised by an adult). Seasonal: starting mid –April for spring and mid-October for fall (depending upon the weather). This is a one-time or more, fun, flexible activity that can be done for 2+ hours, weekdays or weekends. The resident will offer a grateful smile.
