All volunteers interested in a regular, ongoing position or short-term projects are required to complete a volunteer application. Listed below are some ongoing volunteer opportunities. There are also volunteer opportunities at many of the City events. Please contact Volunteer Services for more information at 763-509-5230.

Adopt a Spot: Residents may volunteer to adopt a park, dog waste station, fire hydrant, storm drain or street to benefit their neighbors and the community as a whole. Adopting these items/locations helps ensure Plymouth stays clean and safe. Click on the link to find what is available to adopt near you.

Garlic Mustard: Remove invasive garlic mustard from city parks and green spaces from May through June when it is in bloom. What is garlic mustard? Find out more from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture about Garlic Mustard Handout MDA. It pulls easily; all you need is work gloves. It’s a perfect project for families.

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT): Provide critical support at emergency scenes and disaster sites. Receive training to assist in critical situations such as missing children, tornadoes, or other natural or man-made disasters. Participate in a number of community education, preparedness planning and prevention activities. Must live or work in Plymouth, be 21 years or older, pass a criminal background check and possess a valid Minnesota driver’s license. Applications are due January 31, 2020. Police Reserves: Assist sworn officers with traffic and crowd control, transportation of prisoners, surveillance and patrol activities, special events and other education programs. Must be 21 years or older, commit to 15 hours a month, have a clean driving record and background check.

Take Tickets at high school hockey games.

Ice Skating Assistant: Assist beginning youth skaters during evening and weekend lessons; must be confident on ice. (Seasonally coinciding with lesson schedules.)

Summer Teen Volunteer Program: The summer Teen Volunteer Program is an excellent opportunity for teens 14 and older to learn leadership skills and gain valuable experience working with children. Teens assist with summer recreation programs and events, including playgrounds, day camp, sports, art, music and more.
