All volunteers interested in a regular, ongoing position or short-term projects are required to complete a volunteer application. Once received, we’ll call you to set up a time to discuss your volunteer interests. If you haven’t heard from us within two weeks, please call 763-509-5230 to make an appointment.

Listed below are some ongoing volunteer opportunities. There are also volunteer opportunities at many of the City events. Please contact Volunteer Services for more information at 763-509-5230.

Adopt a Spot: Residents may volunteer to adopt a park, dog waste station, fire hydrant, storm drain or street to benefit their neighbors and the community as a whole. Adopting these items/locations helps ensure Plymouth stays clean and safe. Click on the link to find what is available to adopt near you.

Plymouth Post: Provide caring messages, pictures, photos, riddles, jokes, puzzles and more to seniors and others in Plymouth who may be lonely and feeling isolated. Letters should be dropped off in the front vestibule of City Hall, 3400 Plymouth Boulevard, by the 10th of each month.  You can make a one-time contribution but we would love for volunteers to make a regular, monthly commitment to this program for six months. You can write one letter, make multiple copies of the same letter or do something different for each letter. This is your chance to be creative! Letters can be handwritten or printed from a computer. The size should be no larger than 9” x 11”. For safety reasons, we will not provide names of individuals who will receive the letters. This is an excellent opportunity for schools, groups and families to teach about caring for the elderly and the isolated. If you have questions about this program, you can contact Katie Yandell at 763-509-5222 or kyandell@plymouthmn.gov
