The Salvation Army Harbor Light Center serves more than 600 nutritionally balanced meals to homeless or isolated individuals each day. If you are part of a group, each person needs to sign up individually or you can call 651-746-3426 to reserve spots.

COVID-19 Precautions
The safety of volunteers, staff, and clients is our number one priority. Only volunteers, staff, and those staying at the shelter will be permitted in the facility to help maintain social/physical distancing. The bell ringing season starts each November and runs through Christmas Eve, when the red kettles are packed away for the season. Volunteers are the difference between an empty kettle and one that raises about $30 per hour – enough to provide a family with two bags of groceries, or shelter an individual for a night.

Want to learn what bell ringing is all about? Check out our bell ringing video and FAQs. Then, watch a video about who can bell ring

We need thousands of volunteer bell ringers this Christmas season. You can help when you sign up online for a bell ringing shift. You’ll receive a confirmation email with your selected shifts to confirm that your registration was received. To sign up by phone, or for any questions, please call our Twin Cities bell ringing hotline at 651-746-3519.
